Norwich and Peterborough Building Society Mortgages

The Norwich and Peterborough Building Society is the ninth largest of the building societies left in the UK, and traces its roots back to 1860.

It was formed by the merger of the Norwich and the Peterborough buliding societies back in 1986.

It has around 55 branches and these are mainly in East Anglia.

As a building society, it has a range of different mortgage products available for customers to take out.

These include fixed rate, discounted rate and self build mortgages. There is also information on specialist mortgages and commercial mortgages too.

Their website mentions that interest is calculated daily on what you owe, whereas some lenders do it on a monthly or annual basis. This is good for the consumer because as you pay less interest as you reduce the balance with each payment that you make, you will have the chance of saving a considerable sum of money in the long term.

There is a useful mortgage filter tool on their site that lets you choose the types of mortgage you are interested in then lists the various products in that category, e.g. buy to let, and then more details on each one and the various fees that apply.
