The One Account Mortgages

The One Account was a joint venture between Virgin Direct and the Royal Bank of Scotland in 1997.

It has the claim to fame of being the company that first introduced the offset mortgage product in the UK, which is now a popular option and type of mortgage available with many different financial institutions.

It was initially known as the Virgin One account.

The website therefore is as you would expect dedicated to mortgages.

It tells you clear what the one account is and how it works. For those who are unfamiliar with an offset mortgage and what that means and how this product is a good idea if you have other money to offset the mortgage interest, this is a useful explanation.

It also has an interesting tool called the mortgage shrinker that lets you answer various questions then lets you "see how your mortgage could shrink in front of your eyes".

There's information to help you decide if the offset mortgage product is right for you together with the usual range of mortgage calculators that you see on financial institution websites these days.

There is an FAQs section that covers a lot of the frequently asked questions and also the ability to apply for one online, save an application and so forth.
