Finding An Interior Designer
If you design that you need an interior designer to work on your home or business, then where should you go?Well, there are various places where you can find designers. Clearly online then many interior designers and interior design companies have their own website with a portfolio of their work, containing various client projects and lots of photos. If you research these and like the solutions that they have come up with, then that is one way in which to source an interior designer.
As with most practical jobs, one thing that is really invaluable is word of mouth. The trouble is that, unlike things such as an electrician or plumber that all of use at one time or another, in many places you may not know someone who has ever had an interior designer. But if you do happen to, then definitely it is worth getting their feedback and seeing if you can get a recommendation, or indeed any pearls of wisdom for things to consider and even any pitfalls or problems they came across during the process.
Failing that, then you could consider going through a professional body or association to find an interior designer. In the UK there is a body called BIDA, which stands for the British Interior Design Association.
They have a search tool whereby you can find designers. You can either search by name, but that is the least likely to be what you will want to use. However there are other more useful searches, such as by postcode area, and you can even specify how far away from you the distance sort works. This can be a good way to at least get some leads as you will probably want someone who is relatively close to you especially if various consultations will be required.
You can also specify the sort of work that you require, and even the style: for instance contemporary, country, eclectic(!), period or ethnic, or traditional. The webpage to search for interior designers can be found here: http://www.bida.org/search-designer.php
