Property Letting: the process of having tenants living in a property you own and paying you rent. It might appear to be all the rage, but is it really as attractive as it seems. Having someone paying off your mortgage for you over the course of a number of years seems like a great idea, but first of all you need the property, and then you need to arrange to get tenants there most of the time.
You may decide to let it privately, but many go through a letting agent to take advantage of their knowledge, expertise and marketing power to get you a tenant at an agreed price, and then in many cases act as the point of contact to the tenant rather than having them go straight to you.
